📃 Saco Bravo Waterfall Hike description and information
This unique natural infinity pool set in the rocky coastline overlooking the sea is a photogenic masterpiece – the undisputed highlight of the Saco Bravo Waterfall hike!
But it’s not the only highlight! Make sure you don’t miss out on the other treats on offer.
This region is home to arguably the best beaches on the Costa Verde, great coastal Rainforest hiking and the fascinating Caiçara culture of the local fishing communities.
On this 02 day trip we make sure we pack in all the highlights.
It also means we can be up early and get to the waterfall before the day-hikers arrive!
On the first day of the hike, after a journey by road to the trailhead, we set off through the Atlantic Forest to the first of the beaches. During the day’s hiking you can take your pick between the beaches of Sono, Antigos and Antiguinhos. Everyone has their personal favourite.
Our destination is the car-free fishing village of Ponta Negra where we spend the night. Sitting on the edge of the jungle in one of the most remote parts of the Juatinga Peninsular Eco-reserve Ponta Negra often feels as though it has been forgotten in time. Surrounded by wild and unspoilt Atlantic Forest the local Caiçara fishing people continue to live off the sea.
On the second day after an early morning Saco Bravo Waterfall hike, the beach at Ponta Negra is the perfect location to relax and hang out with the locals.
Make your visit to Saco Bravo Waterfall more than just a day trip!
Take your time. And you’ll also come away with amazing memories of deserted white sandy beaches and remote trails through the lush Rainforest.
