Melancia Falls Hike Highlights
The tallest and most remote waterfall of Paraty.
With the highest plunge in Paraty The Melancia is spectacular! The falls also form a natural waterpark of pools you can swim in and smaller falls to play in.
On arrival at the first section of the Falls you will have a chance to appreciate the sheer size of this waterfall. After walking another 15 minutes you reach the second falls where you can swim in the crystal clear waters, snack, hang out and rest before the hike back along the same trail.

The Melancia Falls hike starts after a 40 minute journey by road from Paraty to the trailhead. The Falls are reached via a trail through lush Rainforest with lots of birdlife and biodiversity on the way. This is a remote area, only accessible by walking trail.
As a 4 hour round trip on forest trails the Melancia Falls hike is considered to be a medium to challenging hike. If you are a hiker this is the day out for you!

We went on a private tour with Rodrigo to Cachoeira da Melancia. It was an amazing experience with just enough time to relax and swim at the waterfalls. Rodrigo knows a lot about the nature and we had nice chats with him. He also takes the time and not try to rush or anything. Service was great. I would really recommend taking this tour.
