Do I need kayaking experience?

No! Most of our clients have little or no kayaking experience. We provide paddling and safety instruction for kayaking on the protected waters of the bay of Paraty.

What's included in the Kayak Tour?

Stable double sea kayaks to ensure your safety and fun. Lifejackets (mandatory use) to fit everyone, including small sizes for younger children State registered, English speaking tour guides with American Canoe Association (ACA) training. Dry bags for storing phones and other things you dont want to get wet.

What do I need to bring on the Kayak Tour?

Are there any age requirements for the tour?

12 years old plus for the regular tour. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For families with young children (from 5 years old) we recommend a private tour.

What route does the Kayak Tour take?

Kayak tour on the flat waters of the bay of Paraty stopping at one or two beaches and paddling through the mangrove on the way back, providing the tide is high enough. Route may change depending on the daily weather/tide.

Is there a cancellation charge?

We offer Free Cancellation up to 48 hours before the Tour starts (local time)

Discover Paraty Bay from a different perspective, paddling through sheltered waters among islands, beaches and preserved areas of the Atlantic Forest. Kayaking allows you to reach places that are difficult for larger boats to access and experience the landscape at a slower, more peaceful pace.

Along the way, you may observe different species of birds, fish and turtles and, depending on the season and conditions, other marine wildlife. Wildlife observation is carried out responsibly, with no guarantee of sightings.

Explore the Mangroves of Paraty Bay by Kayak

Paddle into one of Paraty Bay’s most important coastal ecosystems and experience the mangroves up close. As you move through the narrow channels, you can observe the mangrove roots, distinctive vegetation and the close relationship between this environment and the marine life of the bay.

Mangroves provide important shelter, feeding and breeding areas for many species. During the tour, our guides explain the ecological importance of this ecosystem and its role in the conservation of Paraty Bay and the Atlantic Forest.

Depending on the route and conditions of the day, the tour may also include small islands and beaches surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, offering different perspectives of Paraty Bay’s coastal environments.

Kayaking in Paraty for Different Experience Levels

Before entering the water, our experienced guides provide paddling and safety instructions to help everyone feel comfortable and prepared for the tour.

We use stable double sea kayaks equipped with rudders, designed to provide comfort and make paddling easier. No previous kayaking experience is required, so beginners are welcome, while experienced paddlers can enjoy a different way to explore Paraty Bay.

This is an active outdoor experience that combines kayaking with the opportunity to discover beaches, islands and mangroves along the coast of Paraty.
