Mamangua Experience Trip Highlights

Discover the best of Mamangua with this unforgettable two-day adventure from Paraty.
Combining hiking, kayaking and snorkelling, this immersive tour explores the stunning Mamangua Bay – a remote paradise of mountains, mangroves and crystal-clear waters.
Far from the crowds, you’ll stay overnight in a small Caiçara fishing village, enjoy freshly caught seafood and experience the peaceful rhythm of local life. Perfect for active travellers who want to paddle, hike and connect with the nature and culture of Brazil’s Costa Verde.
Outstanding views from the 425m Sugarloaf Peak.
No trip to Mamangua is complete without a hike up the Mamangua Sugarloaf! It’s a steep hike through the Atlantic Forest starting literally at sea level on the beach, but the panoramic views of the tropical fjord and the forested coastline make it all worthwhile.
After lunch on the beach, there’s time to relax and explore the village before meeting local artisans who share their crafts and tales of local life. As the day-trippers return to Paraty, we enjoy a peaceful sunset and a delicious home-cooked meal before spending the night in our comfortable village cottages.

See some of the abundant wildlife that lives in the Bay of Paraty
Mamangua is home to the largest Mangrove forest in the region – an enchanting maze of roots and waterways that supports a rich variety of birds, fish and crabs. Exploring this incredible ecosystem by kayak is the best way to observe the intertidal forest’s raw yet delicate beauty and see at first hand how it supports local marine life. Lunch is with Dona Graçinha at her family restaurant located deep in the mangrove forest where they live. We paddle right up to the restaurant through the mangrove where they serve the most amazing, freshly caught seafood.
