Sea Kayak Course description and information
This one day sea kayak course is run by an American Canoe Association (ACA) qualified sea kayak instructor in the picturesque colonial town of Paraty. Located midway between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Paraty is easily accessible by road yet far enough from the big cities to offer you the most amazing sea kayaking in Brazil.
On this one day course we work on the main sea kayaking techniques, manoeuvres and rescues in the warm water bay of Paraty. With over 50 islands and more than 100 beaches Paraty has been rightly called a ´sea kayaker’s paradise’ by National Geographic Magazine. The perfect scenario for developing your paddling skills!

What experience do I need?
No previous kayaking experience is required for the ACA level 2 course. We will begin with the basics and build your skill set and confidence.
We paddle for 4 to 5 hours during the day with plenty of breaks.
To get the most out of the course you should be fairly fit and comfortable swimming or floating (with lifejacket) in deep water.

What to take on the Kayak Course: Water - Minimum 1.5L, Cash, Swimsuit (shorts/ bikini), sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, picnic/ snacks for lunch, repellent. We provide dry bags for cel phones.
Location: The Kayak Course takes place on the flat, warm waters of the Bay of Paraty. We will stop at islands and beaches and paddle the mangrove, providing the tide is high enough.
Level of Difficulty: Medium. We paddle approximately 4-5 hours with breaks and stops for theory and onland demonstration and practice.
Instructor: student: 1:5 ratio. Course requirements: minimum of 2 people; Maximum 10 people (2 instructors)
Minimum age: 14 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For families we recommend private courses - contact us for more info.
Postponement and Cancellation Policy: In case of bad weather you can switch to another tour, postpone or cancel.
